SUB: ELECTION OF OFFICE BEARERS FOR THE YEAR 2010-11
REPORT OF THE PRESIDING OFFICER

At the outset I thank the members of the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar for electing me the Presiding Officer for the Club Elections of office bearers for the year 2010-11. The Rotary world has a unique distinction of having a Change of Guard in Rotary International as well as in the more than 30,000 Rotary Clubs all over the world. This happens at the stroke of midnight on June 30th. To prepare for this, club elections are held about 6 ½ months in advance to elect the future Club Leaders for the ensuing Rotary year. So we assembled at the Annual meeting of the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar for the above purpose on 14.12.09.
The Election schedule had been circulated to all members, as well as put up on the Notice Board and printed in the Club Bulletin, Konark
The president for 2010-11 is Rtn. B.K.Sharma He has already been elected in December 2008.
The incumbent President Rtn. Jajati Kishore Das will be Immediate Past President for 2010-11.

For the post of Sgt. – At - Arms Two nominations were received from members who have not completed the stipulated period of two years. There is enough precedence in the Club of appointing Sgt-At-Arms with less experience, in order to provide valuable exposure to new members. The Nominations therefore, have been accepted.

There was no nomination for the post of Editor Weekly Bulletin 2010-11. Rtn. B.K.Sharma President 2010-11 proposed the name of PP Rtn. B.K. Singh Deo, which, seconded by PP Rtn.B.K. Panda and was unanimously accepted by the members and therefore PP Rtn. B. K. Singh Deo will be the Editor Weekly Bulletin 2010-11

As per the By laws of the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar, the Chairman and Secretary of Rotary Community Service Projects will continue to be permanent invitees to the Board of Directors of the Club
