1. ROTARY CLUB
The Rotary club of Bhubaneswar has so far sponsored five Rotary Clubs of Puri,
Jatni, Khurda, Bhubaneswar North and Bhubaneswar East.
Rotary Club of Puri was chartered on 10.4.69. The governor’s special Representative was
Rtn. K.K. Mohanty. Rtn. Prasanna Kumar Patniak and Rtn. Dr. Sreenivasa Sahu were the Charter President and Charter Secretary respectively.
The Rotary Club of Jatni entered into the rotary World on 4.3.77. Rtn. PP Ramanath Pani was the Governor’s
Spl. Representative for Extension. Rtn. PP Satyanarayan Panda, Charter President received the charter from the Dist. Governor Dr. Sadasiv Mishra.
Rtn. B.S. Mohapatra was the Charter Secretary.
Then was sponsored the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar North. Its organizational meeting was held on 3.1.90 in the presence of the GSR
Rtn. PP S. Rajeswar Rao of main Club. Rtn. J.P. Mishra and Rtn. Rajendra Patra were elected as Charter President and Charter Secretary respectively. This Club was admitted to R.I. on 29.06.1990.
The next club to be sponsored was the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar East under the GSR ship of
Rtn. PP Stephen Behera. Rtn. K.P. Mohanty and Rtn. R.S.C Mohanty were the charter President and charter Secretary respectively. The club was admitted to R.I. on 17.6.91.

2. ROTARACT CLUB
The first community based Rotaract club was organised during the year 1970 at the children’s park premises. Thereafter the Rotaract Clubs were formed in Utkal University
(Vani Vihar) in 1976-77 followed by the clubs at BJB College and Stewart School. At present two institution based Rotaract Clubs in the OUAT and Orissa College of Engineering at Rasulgarh are functioning well. The community based club at the Station Square, Bhubaneswar which had a good start now requires a little
revitalisation.

3. INTERACT CLUB
The Interact Club of St. Josepph Convent School is the first interact club to hold a certificate. Thereafter the clubs at DAV School and Stewart School came in. Those clubs however presently require some push up.

4. INNER WHEEL CLUB
Originally at Bhubaneswar the wives of the Rotarians were meeting together under the banner of Ladies’ Club which was formed in the year 1976-77. This continued for quite a number of years. Finally the Inner Wheel Club was inaugurated on 26.1.84 with a membership of 25. The Club received its charter in February, 1987 when Anne Sarojini Ray was the President and Anne Dr. Sabita Misra was the Secretary. The charter presentation ceremony was held on 29.6.87. The Annes who have served as Presidents and Secretaries for the Inner Wheel Club of Bhubaneswar from the year 1984-85 till the current year 1992-93 are chronologically as follows:
PRESIDENT : Sarbasrimati Deepa Padhi, Rani Singh, Sarojini Ray (for two terms), M.
Rangamani, Manjit Chawala, Dr. Sabita Misra, Dr. Sadhya Patnaik and Inder
Arora.
SECRETARY: Sarbasrimati M. Rangamani, Reena Pal, Dr. Sabita Misra, Sailaja Kumar, Aparajita
(Meena) Mohanty, Puravi Banerjee, P. Kali Kumari, Deepti Ray and Bijayalaxmi
Balakrishnan.
The Inner Wheel Club of Bhubaneswar during all these years has not only helped the Rotarians of Bhubaneswar Club in rendering yeoman service to the community but also it has undertaken various socio-educational-cultural activities under all the four avenues of service.

5. RVC
In our adopted villages at Dhauli (Gelapur) and Daspur, Rotary Village Corps have been organised during 1986-87 and 1987-88 respectively for all round development of the individuals, and improvement of the community. The former with 15 members got its certificate on 27.10.86 and the later was organised on 13.12.87. Both the RVC’s are functioning well under active participation of the villagers and guidance of the members of the Rotary as well as Inner wheel clubs of Bhubaneswar. The then R.I. President
M.A.T. Caparas paid a visit to Dhauli on 15.1.87 with Rtn. Rajendra Saboo R.I. President (1991-92) and addressed the
R.V.C. which was as we all know, his brain child.

6. PROBUS
The first Probus club was established with 15 members during October 1986 with Sri Dinabandhu
Mahapatra, a Past President of our Club as President. This Club functioned well for more than a decade with the participation of senior citizens having professional, administrative and executive skills. Now time has came to think once again about establishing a probus club in our community for better utilisation of skilled personnels stagnating unheeded.
Hosting of Conference, etc.
The Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar has hosted the R.I. District 326 Conference twice jointly with the Rotary Club of Cuttack in January, 1972 and January, 1977. It has also hosted the conference independently in February, 1987.
It has hosted the R.I. District 326 Assembly thrice and those were held in the year 1977-78 (24-25 June’ 78), 1984-85 (2 June’ 85) and 1987-88 (May’ 88)
Our Club also conducted Three President Elect Training Seminars (PETS) of which the one held on 8th May’ 88 is worth mentioning.
Besides the above this club has hosted a number of intercity meets, atleast once each year, on all the four avenues of service since 1967, the first one having been held on 17.12.88 on the occasion of the visit of the R.I. Director
Rtn. Sudarshan Agarwala deserves mention where 14 clubs of the District participated with 91 Rotarians. Similarly out of the Intercity-Inter-district meets the worth-nothing one was held on 15.1.87 when
Rtn. M.A.T. Caparas, R.I. President (1986-87) and Anne Nita Caparas, alongwith Past R.I. Director
Rtn. R.K. Saboo (R.I. President (1991-92) participated in the meet and offered
a rare opportunity to the club to host an R.I. President on the occasion.Hosting of Conference, etc.
